Dear Pastors, Ministers and Christian Business Leaders of Clark County 

“What better gift can you give a friend or family member than access to a better marriage? 

Thriving Families of Clark County is a growing network of community, business and church leaders focused on mobilizing and sharing resources that strengthen, educate and encourage marriage and families to thrive.  Building a strong family is certainly a purpose each marriage seeks to achieve—yet many of us struggle and most churches do not have the resources to support families in fulfilling on this most important goal.

Coming to Clark County in February 2007 as a follow up to last year's inaugural event, Thriving Families is bringing Pastor Mark Gungor back to Vancouver to present his popular and effective program—Laugh Your Way to a Better Marriage.  It kicks off with his 2-Part week-end seminar using a humorous look at marriages that is appealing to men and the unchurched as well as Christian couples.  As follow-up—the program offers a biblically-based 12-week Small Group study for those couples interested in improving their marriages.  This can provide valuable support for churches seeking to build their Marriage & Family Ministry—and also serve as a powerful community outreach tool.  Small Group leader couples can be prepared by your church with tools provided prior to the seminar—or receive training on the program at an upcoming session planned for last January, 2007.

Tickets are now available.  Give us a call and let us know how many tickets you will want available for your congregation.  The price is $25 per person.  Some churches using this as an outreach event plan to give free tickets to the couple that invites the most unchurched couples to the seminar.  We suggest the tickets make a great Christmas or early Valentines Day gift for a couple.

To assist TFCC in our planning for the event, Mark needs answers to the following questions as soon as possible:

1. Do you wish to participate at the Promotional or Program level?
1. Promotional Level:  Display a Laugh Your Way to a Better Marriage (LYW) hanging banner; promote the event in weekend services at least twice in whatever is your usual format; and offer tickets at your church.
2. Program Level:  Includes the promotional level plus preparing for the Small Group Study by committing to providing Leaders for those groups.  These couples can participate in a joint training in January and be provided materials, or alternatively, you may choose to train them yourselves with the LYW materials, which we can provide or be obtained from LYW.
2. Who is your contact person for promoting the LYW event?  (Name, phone #, and e-mail address) 

If participating at the Program Level:

4. Will you train your own Small Group leaders or participate in joint training in February?
5. Will your Small Groups be open or closed to non-church members?
